Do you ever have an idea pop into your head that makes you wonder why you didn’t think of it earlier? That’s how I felt a few weeks ago when I reached out to Revive Thrift Shop! Revive's mission perfectly lines up with Noonday Collection’s, and as an ambassador I thought that this could not be a more perfect and fun partnership! I reached out and they were just as excited about it as I was! On February 29th we hosted our first “style and story” event where I was able to debut Noonday's new spring line, and guests were able to shop Revive's amazing clothes! It was a blast! It’s always so special to gather women together for good and empower them with the resources to make a difference in our city and our world.
Erica, the store manager, shared that Revive is fashionable, fun and eclectic. They want to be known for their quality (they shatter your idea of “thrift”) and the impact they have on our city. (Did you know they’re part of a nonprofit called Mission: St. Louis that empowers people break the cycle of poverty?) They want their customers to leave feeling inspired, fulfilled, and excited- which is exactly what I felt after our time together.
As for Noonday Collection, I shared that we are similar to Revive in that we want to make a lasting impact on the world by helping people get out poverty while being fun and fashionable at the same time. We do this by partnering with artisan businesses in vulnerable communities around the world to design and sell incredible handmade goods! Hostesses then create a marketplace in their homes (or their local thrift store) for an ambassador to share the Noonday story and products for our fabulous customers!
We wanted our guests to leave the event understanding that through Revive and Noonday, you can make an impact on the world while still being fashionable and fun. We decided the best way to do this was to hold a style challenge! Three teams were asked to use Revive clothing and Noonday jewelry to create a head-to-toe outfit. I was amazed to see what our guests came up with!
The first team’s outfit was designed for a girl heading to a spring brunch. They got creative and put a blouse over a summer maxi dress! How innovative?! I love how the Nairobi Necklace, which is handmade in India, and the Meridian Clutch, handmade in Haiti, make the outfit more playful for the weekend. Creating layers over your dresses is a great way to get more wear out of them during spring when there is still a little chill in the air. Do you have any sweaters or blouses you could put over your dresses to create a new outfit? Get creative with your closet this spring and challenge yourself to wear what you have in new ways!
The second team’s outfit was for a girl heading to a bridal shower. I loved how feminine their look was! Their outfit is proof that accessories can change the look of any outfit. They used the Modern Romance Necklace which is handmade in Uganda out of paper beads. Even the name of the necklace fits the bridal theme. Pastel colors are on trend this spring- and this outfit is proof!
Team 3 put together an outfit for a girl heading to a happy hour after work who changed her necklace (Sunny Day Necklace) to create a more relaxed look to go out with friends. The pattern can be dressed up or down and just changing your blazer to a casual coat and accessories can take any outfit from day to night!
We hope you all left inspired to get creative with your closets this spring! There are ways for you to get involved and to be a part of the change going on in our city and around the world. You can be a part of Revive Thrift Store by shopping, donating items, or volunteering your time!
Erica and I want to extend a HUGE thank you to all who came to the "Shop & Sip | Revive the World" event a few weeks ago! We had such a great time, and it was a huge success. It was so fun learning how we can change our city and our world through style and our purchasing power.
